Untraced · Last updated September 6, 2026
Effective date: September 6, 2026
This policy explains what DOTDAC VIET NAM COMPANY LIMITED (“we”, “us”) collects when you play Untraced, why, who we share it with, and what you can do about it. Untraced is a detective game about a fictional recovered phone. Everything you browse inside the game is made up. This policy is about the real data the app handles on your real device.
Short version. Untraced has no accounts. The app makes a random Support ID on first launch. We collect gameplay events, crash reports, and purchase status to run and improve the game, and, in the free version, we work with advertising partners that use your device’s advertising identifier to show and measure ads. You can turn tracking off in your device settings, change ad consent in the app, and ask us to delete your data by email.
1. Who we are
DOTDAC VIET NAM COMPANY LIMITED operates Untraced. We are the data controller for the personal data described here.
- Email: admin@hohama.com
- Address: Commercial Service Floor, Vov Me Tri, Ct2D Building, Floor 3, Hà Nội, Vietnam
2. What we collect
Data the app creates or you give us
- Support ID. A random identifier generated on your device the first time you open the app and stored in its secure storage. It is not linked to your name, email, phone number, or store account. The same ID is used with our analytics, purchase, and attribution providers so we can recognise the same install across them.
- Player name. The name you type when the game asks for one. It is shown inside the game and stored with your Support ID.
- Case answers. The answers you type to case questions are recorded as part of gameplay analytics.
- Support messages. If you email us, we keep the message and your email address so we can reply.
Data collected automatically
- Device and app information. Device model, operating system version, app version, language, time zone, screen size, and an approximate country derived from your IP address. We do not collect precise location.
- Gameplay events. Cases started and solved, questions answered, hints used, ads watched, screens viewed, paywall views, and purchases. We use these to understand what works and to fix what does not.
- Crash and error reports. Stack traces, device state, and your Support ID when the app crashes or hits an error.
- Purchase information. When you buy something, Apple or Google and our purchase provider tell us what was bought, when, and whether the subscription is active. We never see your payment card details.
- Advertising identifier. On iOS, the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) if you allow tracking; on Android, the Google Advertising ID unless you have reset or deleted it. Used by our advertising and attribution partners described in section 4.
- Push token. If you accept notifications, a token that lets us send them to your device.
Data we receive from others
- Install attribution. Our attribution partner and advertising networks tell us which ad or campaign, if any, led to your install. This helps us see which ads are worth running.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your real contacts, messages, photos, precise location, email address (unless you write to us), phone number, or anything from other apps on your device. The phone you investigate in the game is not yours.
3. Why we use it
| Purpose | Data | Legal basis (EU/UK) |
|---|---|---|
| Run the game: save your premium status, deliver hints and content | Support ID, purchase status, player name | Performance of a contract |
| Fix bugs and keep the app stable | Crash reports, device info | Legitimate interest in a working product |
| Understand and improve the game | Gameplay events, device info | Legitimate interest; consent where your region requires it |

| Measure our own advertising | Advertising identifier, install attribution, purchase events | Consent (where required); legitimate interest |
| Send notifications about your cases | Push token, gameplay progress | Consent (you accept the prompt) |
| Answer support requests | Your email and message | Legitimate interest; legal obligation for refunds and rights requests |
| Prevent fraud and enforce our terms | Support ID, purchase records | Legitimate interest; legal obligation |
We do not make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects using automated processing. We do not sell your personal data for money.
4. Who we share it with
We use third-party providers to run the app. Each processes data under its own terms and privacy policy, and we choose providers that commit to at least the protections described here.

App stores and payment. Apple and Google process your purchases under their own policies.
Legal. We may disclose data when the law requires it, to protect our rights or users’ safety, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply.
5. International transfers
We are based in Vietnam. Our providers store data mainly in the United States and the European Union. When your data leaves your country, we rely on safeguards recognised by law, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision. Email us if you want a copy of the safeguards that apply.
6. How long we keep it
- User record (Support ID, player name, purchase status, push token): for as long as the app is installed and used, and deleted on request.
- Gameplay analytics: kept for analysis and then deleted or aggregated according to each provider’s retention settings.
- Crash reports: kept long enough to diagnose and fix the problem.
- Purchase records: as long as needed to honour your purchases and meet tax and accounting rules.
- Support emails: as long as needed to resolve the request and for a reasonable period after.
Your game progress is stored only on your device. Deleting the app deletes it.
7. Your choices
- Tracking (iOS). The first time it is relevant, iOS asks whether Untraced may track you across apps. If you decline, your advertising identifier is not shared with our partners. Change it any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Ad consent (EU, UK, Switzerland). The app asks for your consent before showing personalised ads. Change or withdraw it in Settings → Privacy choices inside the app.
- Ad personalisation (Android). Android Settings → Google → Ads lets you delete or reset your advertising ID.
- Notifications. Turn them off in the app or in your device’s notification settings.
- Delete your data. Email admin@hohama.com with your Support ID (shown at the bottom of the app’s Settings screen). We delete our user record and ask our providers to delete or anonymise data tied to that ID. Reinstalling the app creates a new Support ID.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- correct or delete it;
- restrict or object to how we use it, including for direct marketing;
- receive a copy in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting what was done before;
- not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
To exercise any of them, email admin@hohama.com. We answer within the time the law allows and may ask for your Support ID to find your data. Because we hold no name or email for you, this ID is usually the only way to match a request to a record.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you can also complain to your local data protection authority. A list of EU authorities is at edpb.europa.eu; the UK authority is the Information Commissioner’s Office.
California residents. We do not sell personal data for money. Sharing your advertising identifier with advertising networks for personalised ads may count as “sharing” under California law. You can opt out by declining tracking on iOS, turning off ad personalisation on Android, or emailing us. You also have the rights to know, delete, and correct described above, and we will not treat you differently for using them.
9. Children
Untraced is a crime story for adults and older teens. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app, email us and we will delete the data.
10. Security
Data travels encrypted between the app and our providers. Your Support ID is kept in your device’s secure storage. No system is perfectly secure, so tell us if you think something is wrong.
11. Changes
When we change this policy we update the date at the top. For significant changes we will also tell you inside the app. Continuing to use Untraced after a change means you accept the updated policy.
